ITV Saturday gets under way here with the Group 2 Beresford Stakes over 1m for juveniles. Aidan O’Brien has the top two in the betting here in Adelaide River – proven in Group company and the likely favourite – CONTINUOUS. I’m taking a chance with the latter under Emmet McNamara who looked good when scoring first time at the Curragh. The Heart’s Cry offspring could be very good.

ITV are also at Newmarket Saturday for the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes over 1m for juveniles. A poor turnout and hard to get away from FLYING HONOURS who, after getting beaten on debut, went on to score at Sandown and Salisbury at long odds-on. The Sea the Stars son out of a Dubawi mare gets the trip strong and will be very hard to stop for Charlie Appleby and William Buick.

ITV are also at Haydock Saturday for this handicap over 1m. MONTASSIB has not had conditions in his favour since at Goodwood in May but in the hope rain arrives I will take him to score for William Haggas and Stevie Donohoe. I’m convinced he’s still a well handicapped and improving horse. Has a good draw in stall 7.

Group 1 company here in the Cheveley Park for juvenile fillies over 6f. I’ll be very surprised if MEDITATE doesn’t hack up here for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore. The Albany and Debutante victor was picked up by the extraordinary Tahiya in the Moyglare last time but was a bit of a sitting duck there and this trip may be more suitable. I’d have her odds-on for this and she’s not. Let’s hope I’m right!

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

A handicap over 5f. STONE OF DESTINY ran for me in Racing League and is such a well handicapped horse he has to pop up in the near future. Trained by Andrew Balding he’s done to a mark of 81 now having been on 106 just over a year ago. His recent runs give hope so an each way chance under Dane O’Neill.

Another Group 1 in the Middle Park for juvenile colts over 6f. PERSIAN FORCE might be an each way wager here but even if not he might take some beating for Richard Hannon and with Rossa Ryan back on board. My hope was beaten by the re-opposing Blackbeard in Deauville last time but I suspect the winner had the run of the race on the rail and there wasn’t that much between them. Maybe this is the time for Persian Force to really show us what he can do.

The Goffs Million for youngsters over 7f. The one I like here is British raider OVIEDO for Ed Bethell and Kevin Stott. The Acomb form looks strong with the winner Chaldean doing well at Doncaster and Oviedo was keeping on well at the end when in third place. He stays strong.

The big betting race of the day in the Cambridgeshire Handicap over 1m1f. ELECTRICAL STORM is the one I like each way here for young Cieren Fallon and Saeed bin Suroor. A good winner at York over this trip three runs ago, my hope then didn’t quite get home over 1m2f before never really being given a chance at Haydock last time. That was an odd run but he’s much better than that. We just have to hope stall 12 is not a bad one.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
